About the Book

From the imagination of Captain John Verissimo comes a stunning nautical fantasy adventure that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Verissimo utilizes his twenty-six years on the ocean to take you on a journey you will not soon forget. The Adventures of Noah Melville: The Wizard of Time is the first of a series which begins in a small town full of folklore, legends, and unsolved mysteries. There, you will meet and come to know three inspiring young teens—Noah, Carly, and Simon—who together set out to find the legendary ghost ship, Dark Spirit, and its evil wizard, which holds the key to Carly’s past. Before long, with the help of their mentor, Cappy, a renowned boat builder, the young teens find themselves flying through time, over a hundred years into the past, at the helm of an old schooner they had brought back to life. In the midst of battling pirates, they come face-to-face with the evil wizard. Carly, who possesses unimaginable magical powers, not only finds the key to her past, but also to her heart. With Noah and Simon standing by her side, the wizard reveals where her gift came from but makes the mistake of second-guessing just how powerful a gift this is. Within moments of attacking their ship, the wizard learns firsthand just how formidable Carly can be. In the midst of this all-out battle, yet another surprise comes walking out on deck that will change their lives forever.

About the Author

John Verissimo has been a New England fisherman by trade for over twenty-five years. He was born on November 4, 1967, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, a seaside city known for its whaling industry heritage and made famous in Herman Melville’s novel Moby Dick. He was drawn to the ocean at the age of fifteen. After twenty-six years of fishing waters from off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket to the Hague Line of Canada, he decided to make a change to the ferry industry. As fate would have it, he found himself in the middle of nothing less than the historic event we all know as “Miracle on the Hudson.” He continues to reside in New England.
