• About The Author:
This is a book written about savvy shoppers, for savvy shoppers by a savvy shopper. My name is Toni House and I am proud to call myself a savvy shopper.
In fact, I’m savvy enough to write a blog, and website @ https://saveyourmoneysaveyourfamily.com AND a book – called Save Your Money, Save Your Family ™ – about savvy shopping.
How did I get so savvy? One word: recession! Once upon a time, I was the opposite of a savvy shopper; wasting as much money as I spent every time I spent it.
I thought nothing of impulse shopping, dining out a few nights a week and bringing takeout home for my family the rest of the time. Forget food; half the time I came home from the grocery store with more CDs, paperbacks, jar candles, wrapping paper, greeting cards, potholders, coolers and dish towels than bread, milk or eggs!
Then money got a little tight, jobs got tighter and the only thing left to tighten was… my belt! Naturally, I started with the monthly grocery bill and gradually weaned myself off of all the impulse buys, the holiday decorations and DVDs and other “junk” I didn’t need.
It was a rigorous training program; kind of like Grocery Store Boot Camp! By the time I was a lean, mean savvy shopping machine, I had stripped my monthly – not weekly, monthly – shopping budget to $250!
$250!
A month.
Why, that’s what I used to spend per week in the old days; sometimes even twice a week. I was so proud of myself and what I’d learned that I just had to start writing some of this stuff down.
First it was for myself, then it was for my daughter, and later my other family, friends and neighbors. Before I knew it, I’d written so much I had an actual book on my hands!
In my first book, Save Your Money, Save Your Family ™, I included:
• Dozens of ideas for delicious, low-cost home-made meals;
• A 28-day meal planner, complete with four weeks of tempting and nutritious, do-it-yourself, stay-at-home recipes the whole family can use;
• An easy 4-week budget planner and…
• From-the-trenches tips for turning dinner into a four-star event.
• And how do to it ALL for $250!
But now it’s time to blow the doors off the grocery store for good! Forget being just a “smart” shopper; in this book I’m going to teach you how to be a savvy shopper.
What’s the difference? Plenty:
• A smart shopper… uses coupons.
• A savvy shopper… uses double coupons!
• A smart shopper… shops whenever she feels like it.
• A savvy shopper… shops when it’s going to save her the most money.
• A smart shopper… has a list.
• A savvy shopper… has a strategy.
• A smart shopper… spends whatever she wants.
• A savvy shopper… spends $85 per week.
And that’s what I offer you: a strategy. More importantly, a strategy for feeding a family of four (on average) for $85 – or less – per week! That’s right; after reading this book, you will have all the tools to be a savvy shopper and so much more.
Here you’ll discover five fabulous sections chock full of reality, remedies and even recipes for turning you from a smart shopper into a savvy one.
