Bert looked at Buck and nodded. Buck stood in front of Imaad and said, “You are a lying prick,” and then he hit Imaad with a forearm shiver that spread his bulbous nose all over his face. The snap of his broken nose sounded as if a stick of wood had been broken and blood poured down his face and onto his shirt and pants. Immad shrieked with pain and pulled violently at the bonds that are holding him.
Bert allows time for Imaad to quit his whimpering and turns to Rajab and said, “Rajab, it is important that you know that we know everything about you. The purpose of our visit is to have you tell us exactly what you know. We will ask you simple questions to verify your trustworthiness. We will know when you lie, and when you do, the penalty will be quick and painful. Do you understand?” Bert smiles menacingly at the man.
Rajab looks from Imaad’s bloody face to Buck and his instruments of torture and then Bert, as he defiantly said nothing.
“Good.” Bert replies as he smiles at he man.
After twenty minutes of asking irrelevant questions to get him accustomed to the process, Bert and his team left the room to prepare a reward of food and water for Rajib’s cooperation
The two men, alone at last, began to pray to Allah for strength, salvation, and protection of their families.
The captives had eaten little for the last thirty hours and quickly consume the soup and water they are given. Their physical and mental abilities have diminished significantly during the past day but they did know they would be entitled to the privileges of Americans.
Bert decides to start with the stronger of the two men, Imaad. As Bert stared at him Imaad thought, I will give this infidel dog nothing. Allah will protect me.
Bert pulls a chair over and places it directly in front of Imaad, never losing eye contact as he places his elbows on his knees, holds his head in his hands, and stares directly into Imaad’s eyes sending a message of fear and calmly said, “Imaad, I remind you again that the consequences of dishonesty will result in serious repercussions.”
Imaad did as he was trained and defiantly said, “I wish to have an attorney.”
Bert suddenly slaps him hard on his ear with the clipboard he held in his hand and said, “Did you give those people in
Imaad musters as much pride as possible under the circumstances and said, “If I die today I will know that my death is for the glory of Allah. He will protect me and welcome me with open arms. I do not fear you infidels. Soon the earth will be purged of you dogs and if I die today my only regret is that I will not see each and every one of you dead.”
Bert stares at him again with cold and evil eyes and says, “Imaad I hope you enjoyed you soup. I love pork stew, don’t you?”
Imaad’s eyes grew wide and he felt a tinge of nausea and wondered if had indeed eaten pig? This would mean he is unclean but he convinces himself it is only a lie. He says nothing.
Bert coldly said to Buck, “Cut off his trousers.”
