On day after Columbus Day, 1977, we approached De Gaulle International for fuel. The ARAMCO TWA charter was a Boeing 707 fitted for first class seating throughout. I searched the sky for La Tour Eiffel. Finding nothing, I looked out the port side to see the inboard port engine on fire! The stewardess gave me 3 doubles to keep quiet. We landed safely; the airport fire trucks extinguished the fire; TWA repaired the engine. We continued on to Dhahran.....

About the Author
Roaming the near north side of Chicago, he joined a gang. His job was to heist fencable stuff from Woolworth's or the A & P. He almost got caught getting tin hangars from a cleaners. They then put him in a south side military school for the duration of WWII. Wall Lake, Orland, Indiana was the summer school site for swimming, boating, canoeing, archery and marksmanship. On to St. John's Military Academy in Los Angeles, he studied for Lutheran confirmation. Out of district Beverly Hills students must maintain a "B" average. These next 'one of 19 gentiles' five years preceded U.C.L.A. Floundering from Engineering to Letters and Science in Army R.O.T.C., he joined the US Navy. Top of his Fire Control School class at Great Lakes got him assigned to the USS John S. Mc Cain (DL-3), DESFLOTFIVE FLAGSHIP, Pearl Harbor. An admirer of Admiral Arlie Burke, Seaman Recruit to CNO, he could not bring himself to re-enlist under the demoralizing CNO called Zumwalt. Re-entering U.C.L.A. he majored in Physics, finally graduating in Computer Science from CSUN. 38 countries later, his still blew up in Saudi Arabia. After dealing craps for 25 years in Las Vegas, he has turned to writing.
