The man awoke in total darkness and didn’t know where he was. He was so thirsty; his face, groin and chest were on fire. He tried to get up, but was too weak and fell back down on the hard ground. He struggled to remember what had happened. He remembered picking up the blond in the bar. He knew he had been very drunk and the blond had really excited him. He had been whispering all the things he wanted to do and the person seemed cooperative until they were alone in the car, then everything went to hell.
He rolled over and tried to sit up again. This time he made it but had to rest against the rocky wall behind him. He touched his chest and it felt wet and sticky. He was having a very hard time breathing. He was crying and that was just making it harder to breath. He rested a few more minutes and felt himself growing weaker. He attempted to stand, but didn’t have the strength. He was so cold.

About the Book
Daniel McCullen is a transplanted Texan living in Colorado. He is the chief of police in a small town in Northern Colorado and up to the heels of his fancy ostrich skin boots in trouble. A serial killer has chosen his small town as the dumping ground for the bodies,and Daniel can't help but compare the gruesome crimes to a similar case he was working on before he relocated to Colorado. Has a killer targeted Daniel?
About the Author
Peggy Montgomery lives in northern Colorado with her husband, 2 dogs and 2 cats. They live in a small town where her husband is the Chief of Police. Ms Montgomery has a background in the medical field, and having been told to "always write what you know", she took her knowledge, combined with her husbands vast amount of knowledge, and created her first book.
