About the Book
The book is composed of several short stories based on the childhood experiences of three young brothers raised on a farm in New Jersey during the 1950s. Their lives were filled with difficulties consistent with everyday farm life. But the farm also brought them great happiness and freedom.
It was a childhood filled with constant discoveries, extraordinary adventures and endless excitement. The stories reflect the joy they found in simple everyday activities. They lived for the moment.
They were brothers, but more importantly they were companions. Always there to protect each other and always willing to accept a challenge.
Three very different personalities which somehow connected to create a bond which could never be broken.
It was a time when innocence fueled their imagination and adventure drove their spirit. It was a childhood filled with excitement and wonder.
In later years their lives would be much different. One would be killed in battle, another would become a law enforcement officer, and the youngest, well he chose to follow his dreams.
I hope you will enjoy my stories. And along the way you will come to know Three very amazing Brothers.
About the Author
I was the youngest of the three brothers. I had the advantage. There was always someone older to watch over me. Always that older brother for me to look up to.
It's been more than fifty years but the memories we created together remain perfectly clear. Memories which seem almost impossible to put into words.
Thirty years after leaving the farm I went back for another look. The fields looked similar. The road was still gravel and dirt. But the house and all the farm buildings had deteriorated beyond recognition.
I stood there alone in the middle of an empty field thinking about my childhood.
Emotional - you bet it was. It was the reality of having lived a childhood lost forever.
I hope you will enjoy the stories which have brought me a lifetime of happiness. Memories of our farm and the Three Brothers that lived there.
