About the Book

BLESSED THROUGH HOMELESSNESS takes you through Lucette's life... the trials and tribulations that took her from privilege to homelessness as a single mother.
She reveals to us that her love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, guided her in sustaining HOPE and her incredible RESILIENCY.

Today, Lucette is a active member of Christ Church United Methodist, and the Director of the
Faith In Action program at The Shepherd's Way Homeless Ministry who shepherds homeless families to independence through God's love in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The book cover was illustrated by Lucette's son Nair Komproe while he was participating in the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale summercamp in 2007. A special thanks for the help and support that Nair recieved from Dianne Sepielli of Broward County School Board and all the leaders and teachers of the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale.

Nair was blessed with many talents and his sister Chrystel is following his footsteps.

About the Author

Reflecting upon her own personal journey, Lucette Kwidama describes how a strong faith and an unwavering love for God enables one to overcome any of life's obstacles, including homelessness. Lucette was born in Curacao Netherlands Antilles, the second born of four children. Her parents are of Dutch nationality. Lucette's father was a Shell Oil official which provided for a life of privilege. Her parents made certain that their children understood they were not "better" than those less fortunate. With love in her heart and a desire to serve Lucette became a nurse vowing to help others in need through God's love. After 10 years of nursing Lucette then started her own company and was the CEO for thirteen years in her successful insurance business. Life was very good. At thirty years old Lucette married and had two children. Things then changed drastically.....
