Authors: Publicize Your Book with the RTIR Advertising Program
Getting publicity on radio and television is one of the best ways to increase your nonfiction book's exposure by establishing yourself as an expert—but how do you effectively reach the people who decide what goes on the air? AuthorHouse is now pleased to offer an effective way for authors of nonfiction titles to reach producers, hosts, and program directors at radio and television stations throughout the United States and Canada: the RTIR Advertising Program.
Radio-TV Interview Report (RTIR) is a publication that is widely used by members of the media to discover intriguing guests and topics to spotlight on television and radio programs. Published semi-monthly, RTIR contains paid advertisements each month from 100 to 150 authors and other spokespeople who are available for live and in-studio interviews. Each advertisement contains possible topics for discussion, including authors' areas of expertise, as well as authors' contact information for the purposes of arranging interviews. “The RTIR ad was effective beyond my expectations. Over the course my two week ad run, I received seven radio interview requests, and one radio industry entrepreneur offered me my own Internet-radio show. I have already signed up for another 10 week run of my ad.”
-Mike Seid, Author of Chuckin' Chuck: The Astonishing Tale of Charles Manson Pitching in the Major Leagues
To obtain the optimal results with the RTIR Advertising Program we strongly recommend running an ad at least twice (once a month for consecutive months). Repetition is key to successful advertising. Plus, topics considered newsworthy can change very quickly, potentially making your ad more interesting to the media in subsequent issues.
Here's how the process works:
1. Once you've purchased this service (and your book is published), we'll notify RTIR of your upcoming ad and send them a copy of your book's cover, "about the book" and "about the author" text. If you would like to use a different photo than the one we currently have on file for your book, please let your Marketing Consultant know at the time you purchase the service, and send an updated photo.
2. A professional copywriter at RTIR will contact you in order to gather information about you and your book. He or she will use the information you provide to write the text for your advertisement.
3. The RTIR copywriter will write your ad and send you a copy for your approval.
4. Once you've approved you ad, it will run in an upcoming issue of RTIR. Ads typically run for 2 to 3 months after final approval.
5. After your ad runs on RTIR, we'll mail you a printed copy of the issue that contains your ad for your reference.
Marketing your book is essential for its overall success. The cost for this service is $2,175.00. To learn more or to order this service, please call 888.519.5121. We'll guide you through the process.
*This service works best for authors of nonfiction titles that fit into the current news cycle and authors who are experts in their chosen fields. Fiction titles, poetry, and children's books are not suited for RTIR.
