What if my e-mail address or phone number matches an existing AuthorHouse record?
When you submit your author information in the Services Store shopping cart, we check your e-mail and phone number against our existing author records. If we get a match one one of these items, we need to confirm your identity by prompting you for your current Author ID. If you are unsure of your existing Author ID, we will automatically send it to the e-mail address we have on record for you.
As e-mail addresses and phone numbers can change over time, it is possible your information may erroneously match our author records. If this is the case, or you no longer have access to the e-mail you originally registered with AuthorHouse, you will be directed to the Author Confirmation Error page. In order to ensure your privacy, and the privacy of our authors, we will ask you to contact an author advocate at 888.519.5121. We can then provide your current Author ID and walk you through the rest of the process.
What is included in my publishing package?
Every AuthorHouse publishing package includes all you need to get your manuscript into a book format ready for distribution on the market, including: full-color cover, interior layout, copyright in your name, ISBN assignment and order fulfillment.
If I live outside the US, Canada or Mexico can I purchase an AuthorHouse publishing package?
Yes, but not through this Web site. All authors who live outside the U.S., Canada and Mexico must publish through AuthorHouse UK. For more information, please visit www.authorhouse.co.uk or call 0800 1974150.
Can I purchase a publishing package if I’m not already in contact with AuthorHouse?
Yes. If you are a new customer, you will be asked to provide all the necessary information during the Services Store shopping cart process to create an AuthorHouse account.
Will the shopping cart recognize me if I am an existing AuthorHouse author?
Yes. When you provide your information, AuthorHouse will recognize either your e-mail or phone number. At that point we’ll ask you for your Author ID number to confirm your identity. If you are unsure of your Author ID, it will be sent to the current e-mail address we have on file for your account.
Why does AuthorHouse need my Social Security or Tax ID number?
When you publish with AuthorHouse, you set your royalty rate and book selling price. All royalties are subject to standard tax requirements, and are reported as income to the IRS. If you choose not to provide a SSN or TAX ID, AuthorHouse will withhold the applicable tax from your royalties and pay it to the proper tax authorities.
Is my personal information secure when I provide it to AuthorHouse?
Yes. AuthorHouse is committed to maintaining the privacy of your personally identifiable information, and will treat the privacy of your information with the same or greater security protections as we provide for our own private information. What address should I use in the purchasing process?
To successfully complete the purchasing process, you'll need to enter the billing address associated with the credit card you're using for payment. If the address you provide does not match, the transaction cannot be processed.
Does AuthorHouse store credit card information from online transactions?
Online credit card transactions are handled by a third-party financial institution called Verisign, the world's recognized leader in e-commerce payment solutions. They receive the credit card data only to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions.
Furthermore, your credit card and billing information cannot be read as it travels to our ordering system. To ensure that your information is even more secure, once we receive your credit card information, we store only the last five digits on a server that is not accessible from the Internet.
Can I order publishing services over the phone?
If you feel more comfortable doing so, you may place an order for products or services over the telephone by calling 888.519.5121 for publishing services or to order books.
What information do I need to provide about my book?
If you know the title of your book, please let us know in the checkout process. It is also helpful to know your manuscript status and genre at that time. If you are undecided, just leave these spaces blank, as you can provide or change all of this information on your Submission Information Form.
