The Fairy Tales were written by me after I was diagnosed as having the Parkinson's disease. My Doctor after my having a bout of depression told me to write. At fist I tried my hand at writing poetry for grown ups. I then started writing fairy poems for children. One day I sat at my computer and my first Fairy tale came into my head. Since then I have written about six hundred such tales. If all goes well I will have the other fairy tales published. Then the childrens poems and last but not least my adult poetry. I use the name Bern for all of my written work.
Born at Dartford, Kent in the year nineteen hundred and thirty. I was the last of six children, three boys and three girls. My Mother died of tuberculosis when I was three years old and I with my brother Stanley were placed in the care of the Medway Cottage Homes at Chatham Kent. War came along and I was sent with the other children to Whitstable in Kent then when the air fights were getting too dangerous we were sent to Tonyrefail, Glamorgan. South Wales. I passed a scholarship and attended the Bridge-end Mining and Technical school. After my national service I met and married my wife an Austrian girl. Later we decided to move to Austria to be near the wife's mother. At the age of fifty five I was diagnosed as having Parkinson's disease. I have always been a keen reader and have read many books in my long life. To become a writer has surprised not only me but many of my friends and aquaintences not to mention my lovely wife.
Fairies and all of the little people of Fairyland their adventures be they Fairies, Leprechauns, Pixies, Elves, Bogies and Trolls.
Witches and Wizards play a large part in my imagination which I must admit sometimes runs wild with me.
The Fairy Queen Feeana is a personal friend of mine and has told me many of the small anecdotes that I have written for your enjoyment.
The book is suitable for the very small children as well as the grown ups of this world. It is meant to take your minds off the run of the mill, daily routines and give you pleasure. Bern
