About the Book

An Annotative Biography of the Heritage Press  Authors  A-D  Volume One

This annotative bibliography lists approximately 330 Heritage Press books.  The information given includes a complete  description of the book, the illustrator, designer, copyright date, number of pages, and illustrations.  It also includes the printer, the type used, the size of the book, the number of the Sandglass, the month and year when that particular book was issued, and my bibliography catalog number for that book.  This bibliography will help used book dealers, book collectors in general, Heritage Press book collectors, librarians in high school and colleges by making them aware of the fine quality of Heritage Press books.  Each book was illustrated by the finest painters, engravers, and artists in the world.  Many illustrations were hand colored and were examples of museum quality prints.  Each book was printed on paper especially selected for the book and was designed by masters of printing, binding, and typography.

I wrote this book because I could not find any book, magazine article, or any scholarly journal that addressed itself to Heritage Press books. Since I have the largest Heriatge Press book collection in the United States, I decided that I would write an annotative bibliography using my book collection as the source.   I have approximately 1,000 Heritage Press books which include many Heritage Press Ephemera consisting of Sandglasses, Prospectuses, Newsletters, Collotypes, Art Prints, Paintings, advertising material, ballots, and membership slips.
