About the Author

Julie Burton is a Florida Native, born in Key West. She grew up in Lighthouse Point, and now lives in Loxahatchee, FL with her husband of 22 years and her 2 children, Zachary and Zoey. Her and her husband David share a love for their family, outdoor sports and animals of all kinds. Julie’s passion, besides her family is as an equestrian rider, where she competes as an amateur rider and has been lucky to have some very nice horses. She also enjoys tennis, water sports, and traveling. The majority of her time is spent with Zac and Zoey and their activities her son plays and trains for tennis tournaments, and her daughter has the bug for riding as well. Julie is also a 200K leader with Le-vel, a health and wellness company that she is proud to be a part of. She spends her day taking care of her kids and her household, riding and caring for her horses, as well, as dogs, cats and her daughter’s hamster. She has been an animal lover from a very young age and can’t remember a time when she didn’t have multiple animals in her household. She has always wanted to find the time to write stories for children about animals and the crazy things they do. She started this fictional book over 20 years ago, after being at their summer home in NC and meeting a dog and a deer that roamed the mountainside together. Her mom Judy Waters, had always encouraged her to finish it, but a busy life got in the way. After Judy’s untimely passing from cancer in 2016, Julie made up her mind to put the finishing touches on the book as a tribute to her Mom, and all the encouragement she always offered her and so many others. She hopes all of you enjoy the story as much as she does.
