Ravissia spotted a large stone slab sixty feet to their right and they made a run for it. Halfway to the stone they heard and felt another explosion rip through the woods. It was closer than the last blast had been. It was a distraction that they could ill afford. Just as they reached the stone the Gormash made its attempt. Its blades shot out of the ground and the warrior Banoch screamed in agony falling to the stone as half of his left foot was neatly severed. Greymir rushed to his side and after applying medicinal salves quickly wrapped the bleeding appendage. The Gormash thrashed against the side of the stone. With Banoch laying on the flat, unyielding surface and writhing in agony and the Gormash beating itself against the stone Alamarcs attention was drawn back to the creatures in the forest. The explosions were becoming more frequent and were getting closer. And even from the distance he could see that the attention of the Rabbitbeast was now turned inward towards the interior of the forest. Several of the creatures were backing out of the woods and back onto the open plain all the while snapping and growling at the trees. The Gormash abandoned the stone and reappeared in their midst slaying with wild abandon. And too, the forest looked less dense than before. The explosions were clearing it away from the inside. As more of the Rabbitbeast backed out of the woods and into the clutches of the Gormash, the warriors witnessed an incredible phenomenon. With the next explosion from in the woods the trees were blown away and a massive wave of what appeared to be thick, frothy, brown liquid rained down on the horde of Rabbitbeast and the Gormash in their midst. The Mazrizch covered everything and then the burning and churning started. While the Rabbitbeast were ripping and clawing at themselves and succumbing to its poisonous excretions the Mazrizch sank into the ground where it battled, subdued and then absorbed the voracious Gormash. In doing so it became larger. But it did not stop there it resurfaced and poured itself across the plain continuing in its attempt to escape the creatures that had harried it through the woods with their explosions. It rushed along taking the dead and dying Rabbitbeast with it. And, when it neared the stone, it was once again met with fiery explosions causing it to flow to the right. The Mazrizch was now headed in the direction that the Gormash had come from. Thanks to the Gormash it would find plenty to eat in that direction. In the meantime the creatures that had hounded it through the jungle now stepped from the smoldering woods....

The Republic was in desperate need of new worlds to colonize. But, so to were their hated adversaries “The Gan.” The war had already decimated half of a galaxy…. Because of the war the much sought after planet Oleanis went from being a beautiful paradise teeming with an abundance of assorted wildlife and vegetation to a savage, radioactive blasted landscape populated by a hostile assortment of strange predatory species which defy the imagination…… The Dark Skinned Warrior Races that peopled the Land of Terimon had unknowingly been well protected from the savagery of their world by an insurmountable mountain range. They were unaware for the most part of the malicious and savage assortment of predators that inhabited the lands beyond. That was about to change….. The Mazrizch (ma-zich) was barely able to hold itself together as it drifted toward the shore. It looked like a clear oil spill with thousands of drops scattered across the surface of the lake. Slowly they began to move toward each other and eventually the creature was able to flow off of the surface of the lake and onto dry land. On its way it encountered a young Terimonian woman and her child playing in the water along the shore. Without slowing down it washed over them and continued on dragging their screaming bodies ashore in a bloody wake feeding as it went.

Alan is a native Bostonian and a graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts. He is the third of eight children born to Thomas and Dorothea Spencer. Alans love of science fiction, action and adventure was nurtured by his father’s love for comic books and paperback novels. He is married to Donna his wife of 13 years and currently resides in Brockton, Massachusetts. He credits writing as the single most stabilizing force that enabled his subsequent recovery from substance abuse. He is extremely passionate about his writing choosing the sci-fi/fantasy genre as his conduit for creative expression Alan has a strong desire to co-author books with his siblings, who are all avid readers and good writers as well.
