This book was written from a King’s heart. Willie “Coolie” Myrick wrote this book for entertainment and encouragement. The book will speak to your soul to verify that there is always more to a man than what you see. Every word written is inspired by the author’s life experiences. The author believes that we all go through the same things but experience it at different times. He wrote this book in prison and sends the message to everybody behind the walls: don’t waste your time saying you can’t do it until you get out. You have your life now. Apply yourself daily, and think beyond the physical restraints.


About the Author

Willie “Coolie” Myrick was born Willie Benjamin Myrick on May 7, 1980 in Augusta, Georgia. He was raised in Thomson Georgia, on Pitts Street and given the nickname Coolie as an infant. The oldest of ten children, he had a difficult childhood, suffering years of low socioeconomic conditions which include staying in a homeless shelter that lead to his choice to begin a life of hustling. The hustling started with selling candy, performing yard work and collecting aluminum cans to sell at the age of nine years old. By the age of twelve, Mr. Myrick begin the life of selling illegal drugs to aide his family in escaping difficult circumstances for more than twenty years. Expelled out of high school in ninthh grade, he eventually earned his general equivalency diploma (GED) in 2004. Later he completed technical school to obtain a barber’s license and became certified in Business and Customer Service Technology. The skills obtain contributed to his success in owning and operating several small businesses. As the father of two daughters, Mattilyn and Dee, it was the birth of Mattilyn that kindled the desire to make a constructive change. Coolie Myrick, a small town idol began establishing a legacy that consists of giving back to his community through donations, back to school drives, an active member of the Democratic Party and a volunteer with habitat for humanity. This legacy is alive and well today. Despite his absence, he has continued to positively impact numerous lives throughout his incarceration. Mr. Myrick’s was encouraged to write about his life experiences and outlook on life by his sister Sharro. Since that day he has developed a zing that has allowed him to express his inner feelings that have led to personal breakthroughs. He started to write and found that writing became his escape from the darkness encountered mentally and physically. His appreciation for the arts, acting, and writing are conduits to express himself in creative ways. This is his first book completed, and his second book, Confessions of a Hustler, will be released in Spring 2019.
