Women come in two different kinds. Not dark skinned or light skinned because outer colour doesn’t depict inner strength; not the beautiful or the ugly because beauty is in the eyes of the beholder; not the wise or the foolish because every human on earth has made a combination of foolish and wise decisions before; not the high maintenance or the low maintenance because they are very subjective classifications of desirable standards of living; not those who want power in the world and those who want power in bed because it is a very insulting way of limiting the limitless influence of womanhood; not the goddesses and the doormats because when a woman is empowered she can become far more successful than is imaginable. The two kinds of women are the “exceptional woman” and “soon-to-be exceptional woman”. In my opinion, trying to be a man is a total waste of femininity. They say “it’s a man’s world”. I am certain this statement was developed and deployed as a strategy to keep women away from industry, governance and other notable ventures in historical times. But let us consider the following for a moment; Who says it’s a man’s world when there are women everywhere reshaping the world, fighting injustice, promoting peace and progress in our ill-fated world. Who says it’s a man’s world when there are women leading corporations, redefining professionalism and outshining competition. Who says it’s a man’s world when there are women creating change in industries and nations and continents. Who says it’s a man’s world when there are women birthing and nurturing innovation in spite of human and environmental challenges. Who says it’s a man’s world when there are women committed to grooming future leaders even when they don’t have the support of their male partners. Who says it’s a man’s world when the womanhood has the power to renew, restore and refresh. This is why I celebrate womanhood! It should however be clear to all women; exceptional or soon-to-be exceptional that this book is an attempt to espouse some ageless lessons that have carried womanhood for decades and centuries. No matter your level, these ageless lessons will help you keep living everyday like a champion regardless of whatever or whoever stands as an obstacle to your undeniable greatness. Clearly, women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world, it is my hope that this book will be read with an open mind and appropriately applied as you become the exceptional woman you have the potential of becoming. This book is the first of many to come in this series on Women Empowerment. It is my desire to see more women claiming their stake in the 21st century and beyond.

About The Author Abiola Salami is a Leadership & Communications Expert and Social Transformation Strategist who employs his Creative Thinking, Productive Communication and Socio-Psychological Skills to design and implement initiatives focused on Women Empowerment, Youth Empowerment and Workforce Productivity. His career started as a Community Relations Officer in a Non-Governmental Organization after which he moved on to an Administrative & Business Development Executive in a Health Maintenance Organization. He proceeded to one of Africa’s most respected Banks where he managed the portfolio of High Networth Individuals. His final stop was an indigenous Consulting firm where he played multiple roles as a Business Development Manager, Product Manager & Faculty of the Training Academy. Abiola has always being a catalyst for productivity both in social and corporate circles. In recognition of his contribution to Youth Leadership, Women Empowerment and Human Capital Development, Abiola was nominated for the United States Government’s International Visitors’ Leadership Program (IVLP) where he explored global leadership best practises from Washington DC and across the US with leaders from 30 countries. Abiola Salami has hosted several Youth & Women Empowerment initiatives across different schools and communities equipping young people with timeless leadership principles that will help them become champions as they take Personal Responsibility for National Productivity. He is the Convener of Make A Difference Leadership Initiative (MADLI) and The Making of A Champion targeted at Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions respectively. He is also the Convener of The Senior Professional Ladies’ Colloquium- a forum for inspiring professional women to live their best life ever. At the moment, he is leading the establishment of Women Network Africa.
