Young Money Books author Robert Adams and illustrator Scott Nelson are on a mission to teach children the importance of managing money—but with fun!

Austin is your typical bear who just began a journey many of us will be on for the rest of our lives. He just started receiving an allowance. Austin quickly discovers there are many times he has to make decisions regarding money, and some of them are tough. Of course he is not the only bear going through this. His best friends, Tyler and Hope, are also on this roller-coaster ride, and together they will discover the secrets of money. Join us as Austin learns to cope with a budget and how this helps him avoid problems his friends will face. Plus, all these lessons are wrapped in exciting adventures. With each of Austin’s adventures, we hope to educate young readers and empower them to ask questions and improve their understanding of finance.

About the Author

Robert Adams has always loved teaching [AS1] . Nothing gives him more pleasure than showing people how to solve a financial problem, which in turn helps them become more successful. Robert worked in finance for over twenty years with a large, national company, helping stores and many other customers make a profit. His wife and he currently own a successful sports store.

Robert has written several financial books about teaching children, but he believed they all seemed to be too dry to publish. He felt he was going to put the parents to sleep and make the kids run for the door. Than one day, while volunteering at his daughter’s school, he asked the librarian where to find a book on finance. She showed him what they had, and it was mostly about counting money. And, as you guessed, it was very boring-looking material an elementary student would never check out. So, as they say, the light bulb came on. He thought of writing books that would create excitement, with great artwork as well as a simple story about money. Thus Young Money Books was born.

A little about Robert: He’s an enormous high school and college football fan as well as a golfer. He was born on an Air Force base, raised on a farm, and later served in the Air Force like his father, brother, and sister as well as many of his relatives. He currently lives in Katy, Texas, with his wife of over twenty-five years and their three wonderful children, whom the characters in his books are named after.
