About the Author

Christopher Mills is the managing director of Core Measures, a consulting company specializing in measuring and managing performance, with offices in the UK, Singapore, and Shanghai and representation in the Middle East. Chris is at the cutting edge of research and design in talent management. He has worked with over one hundred organizations in seventeen countries and audited, designed, and facilitated over eighty performance- and talent-management-related projects. Some of his previous clients include the government of Brunei Prime Minister's Office, the government of Singapore Investment Corporation, the Telecommunication Authority of Oman, the Singapore Sports Council, TEDA, Tianjin, ExxonMobil, The Red Cross, 'Dutch Lady' Friesland Campina, National Trade Union of Singapore (NTUC), MTU Asia, Fujitsu, and Johnson & Johnson. He has also consulted with Resorts World, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, GlaxoWellcome, Celcom, Petronas, STAR Petroleum, Thai Oil, Matsushita, and Robert Bosch. In the 1990s, he was managing consultant of an American consulting company. In the ’80s he was a full-time lecturer at the National University of Singapore. Chris is a well-respected speaker, facilitator, consultant, and writer who is commended for his knowledge, the value he adds transferring technology, and as a mentor and coach. Chris studied at the universities of Leeds and Southampton, where he specialized in English and psychology. He received his first master’s degree from the University of Wales. He also holds an MA in human resources from George Washington University. He has an advanced postgraduate diploma in management consultancy from Henley Management College in the UK. His doctorate in business administration research focused on performance management.
