Three weeks Today I woke to eyes that left me breathless And tasted lips so sweet, the world just fell away Lips so soft I thought that we might drift above the bed at times The perfect place to start the perfect day! Last night your arms were all the world I needed All the paradise this man could take, and more Wrapped up in those arms, those eyes- your presence All the things that I’d been asking for Three weeks ago, I saw you and I shattered! My eyes met yours, and everything was right And all the pain and pleasure of the past just drifted past me Overshadowed by your endless light Tomorrow is another day of blessings And things I dreamed about, but never knew The smiles, the tears, the laughter and the growing And all the things that come with loving you.

About the Author
In middle school an English teacher handed out wide-ruled spiral notebooks, and told us to use them throught the year as journals. We were encouraged to be as expressive and artistic as our little hearts allowed. That year poetry found me, and being quite bashful and quiet, I filled that notebook with the words I found difficult to speak aloud. My relationship with poetry remains the same to this day. Passionate, intimate, and deeply expressive. My life and love of writing began in my hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, where I currently reside. I have one other published volume of poetry, 'Always the Quiet One: Volume One', that was released into the wild in 2002. I also write short stories and plays, and find great joy in photographing the people and places that move me. However, ever the romantic, I can say without hesitation that my heart will always belong to poetry.
