About the Book
I have shared my poems with a very select few of my friends and it was their encouragement that pushed me to publish my thoughts. I feel that writing has led me to hope and hope has such a cumulative effect in all of our lives. My writing is extracted from life experiences that are common to all of us. So take a breath and say it's never too late to nurture your spirit, that's what my poems have done for me, I hope they do the same for you.
About the Author
I am a retired teacher and widow. The adjustment to living alone after such a long time was quite difficult. I found that writing my thoughts helped me to process the layers of grief that I felt. During my grieving for my husband, my mother died and I started the process all over again. Writing poetry has always been my private obsession. For me, writing is part of my daily existence, a thread running through all my experiences, circumstances, changes. I find that I cannot separate one from the other. Writing poetry is like breathing to me, it has become a way for me to put my experiences and feelings in perspective, to discover myself, to create a new me. Finding my voice has helped me to speak my own truths.
