Braeden continued looking out his bedroom window at his neighborhood and stole a glance back at the weird tree. In the moonlight, the tree had a soft glow about it and Braeden thought it looked mystical. The next thing he knew, a gust of wind blew and the tree's arm like branches seemed to wave to Braeden. With that, he scurried across the floor and dived into bed and pulled the covers over his face. "You can't get me you scary old tree. You can't get me!" he murmured as he pulled the covers closer around him. He peeked out from under his blanket as his mother entered the room to say good night to him.

The author attended the University of Maryland. She is retired from her county's local courthouse after fifteen years of dedicated service to the citizens of Charles County, Maryland. She worked in child support, custody, visitation and domestic violence and worked in conjunction with the Charles County Department of Social Services and the local State's Attorney Office. She has always had a love of reading and telling stories to young children. Writing children's stories has become an enjoyable hobby of hers during retirement. Every unforgettable story begins with an idea and she gets her inspiration from life and retrieving ideas from the world around her.The author lives in Maryland with her husband.
