About the Book

This is a collection of poetry born from that bitter-sweet ball game we call life. Encompassed here is the mystery, frustration, joy, elation, pain, bewilderment, and ultimate blessing that we all experience rounding the bases of life’s baseball diamond. The physical, emotional, and spiritual journeys one experiences when caught in those metaphorical conjunctions we all face during those times when life imitates art are all illustrated here in prose, that convey the stark detail of a twenty-something generation Xer’s travels through the last segment of the 20th century, and the beginning of the 21st. The themes here are so wide-ranging and poignantly written, one must delve into and analyze this body of prose to attain its full meaning. Read and enjoy!

About the Author

Troy Frank is a philosopher, thinker, artist, and wordsmith who has recorded in poetic notation, those harvest years we know as our twenties and thirties - the time in which we all grow and change, and formulate our view of the world around us. Through his life’s experiences as a member of what has been described in history as the Generation X, he provides us with a memoir and feeling of coming of age in this most pivotal point in world history. From the endless folly of college days, to the Stark reality of life’s adversity and spiritual struggle, we are provided with a poignant philosophical volume of one man’s take on the last days of the 20th century, and unmistakable times in which we now live. Emmerson, Poe, Hawthorne, Hughes, Elliott, Dunbar… this painfully honest and wonderfully insightful work shows us that perhaps Troy Frank is the poet for the ages. Troy Frank is currently an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri.
