About the Book

Happy’s story begins at Barkley Elementary School. It’s career week, and she is faced with the tough question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Because Happy has no idea what she wants to be, she decides to follow her classmates on a variety of adventures to see what they will choose. At the end of the week, each of the pups must tell their teacher which career they have chosen. If their teacher approves, they will be given their very own dog tag and begin their new lives! This is a story about discovering who you are and not being afraid to try new things, even if you don’t at first succeed. It’s a happy story geared toward dog-lovers and adventure-seekers ages 4-8.
