Before the children left they shared one final embrace with their mother. “Look after each other now, and remember what your pa said Luke; stay strong” Emily sniffled. With that statement made, she reached for her rifle and began to open fire on the troops. She then signaled her children to make their way toward the woods as fast as they could. The two children raced frantically toward the thicket but as they neared closer to it the captain reached out and snatched up Ellie in his massive arms.

About the Book
Soulless Drifter is the story of Lucas Alaister, a gunman on a quest for revenge. After both his parents were killed by renegade troopers and his sister was kidnapped, young Lucas grows into the vengeful gunslinger known by many as "The Drifter."
He travels the territories searching for those responsible for his shattered childhood, and is intent on taking down any crook who stands in his way. It is a rip-roaring tale filled with action, adventure and suspence. If you are looking for a good story, then keep an eye out for "The Drifter."
About the Author
Alex Veres, born Dec. 22 1985, is known by many of his friends and family for having a vivid imagination. With his imagination and his skills in storytelling, he has already entertained several readers with his first story "The Adventures of Prince Gabriel." He is in the process of writing stories about other creative characters as well, and hopes that like his first book they will also be entertaining.
