There are some teenagers now that amaze me with the things they say and do. Which I’m sure everyone can agree with this fact. The teenagers nowadays have to go through a lot. They have to deal with going to school everyday. They have to deal with not going to school everyday. They have to deal with each other as

far as communication. They talk to each other, but some of them don’t like the topic of conversation. The girls have to deal with each other as far as who likes which boy. They have to deal with the fact that they may not like a group of girls, or even one girl for that fact. They have to deal with the boys’ constant sexual harassment, or just if their friends. The boys have to deal with which click, or crew as we used to call it back in the day, they want to be in. They have to worry about who’s the man. They have to deal with becoming a man and they have to worry about the gangs that are in the neighborhood. They all have to worry about the dope game. They all have to worry about growing up with their parents nagging them all the time. They have to worry about hanging out and not getting into any trouble.

There are some teenagers who are going to school to try to get good grades. There are some who are struggling to get good grades. There is a school that rewards the students that get good grades, with certificates. The other students who aren’t getting good grades get a bike as a reward. This leads the other children who are doing the right thing, in the wrong direction. I’ve seen it happen, but the children don’t improve their grades, they continue to spiral downward. Then they tend to start all hanging together, with the same children that have bad grades.

There are some teachers who display the children’s work on the boards. There are some children that get D’s and F’s. This is a good display to hopefully get the children who have the lower grades, to improve. The only thing that seems to get the children to improve is there parent coming in to see what it is their actually

doing all day.

The biggest problem in the schools today is the children’s attitudes. There are some that are very disrespectful. They curse at the teacher. They talk back with no problem whatsoever. They do not have any respect for any grownups at all. They curse so often that people get tired of saying don’t say things like that. They will sit up there and say things about the teacher, if she’s old or funny looking. They use the same thing that they say for each other.
