Sylvan came about the idea for this book after listening to his students concerns about the literature available on self defence and he thought it necessary to have a book out in the market that appeals to people who maybe can’t make it to the gym and workout every day.

Sylvan wanted to reach people with disabilities, parents of young children and educational establishments to give them an insight into what is meant by ‘Protect You’.

Sylvan identified that some women in sheltered housing accommodations are so badly damaged both mentally and physically that they can’t or won’t be interested in training at a gym but would hopefully feel some warmth and safety in the words of his book which is designed to ‘Protect You’.
