About the Book

I began writing this collection soon after publishing Emotions. From memory, I have always been fascinated with the moon and remember using my favorite Uncle’s World War II binoculars, staring at the moon with wonder and delight. During a conversation with the dear friend from, "In Praise of Southern Girls," she suggested the name, Moon Stages. In truth, our lives change with the seasons but ever so subtly with the more frequent changes of the moon. These poems come from a healed, thankful heart. They pay tribute to friendship, to finding again those from my past, they offer up a thanksgiving for blessings and sing a song to new love. Preview readings from portions of this work have garnered each time the comment, "Can’t wait to read this collection!"

About the Author

Georgia Carole Douglas was born and nurtured in the Lakeland area of Western Kentucky. She graduated from a twelve-year school on the Murray University campus and received her bachelor’s degree from Murray State University. After years of traveling and living in various places, she has returned to the place of her birth. She was a teacher, worked in a greenhouse and managed a floral shop. Now retired, she writes, gardens, conducts plant seminars, poetry readings and serves as an occasional guest commentator on local public radio.  She actively supports the station and appears during each fund raising event.

Her writing reflects her love of living and the magic of friendships old and new. ‘Moon Stages’ is her second book. ‘Emotions of A Woman – Reflection’ was written first.

Avidly pursuing her passions for writing, finding old friends from the past, travel, growing herbs and plants that vine, ballroom dancing and the company of family and friends, she lives in the house by the lake, given to her by her late husband as a gift.
