We are the great Self. We are the soul. We are
light, love, wisdom, bliss, joy, and peace. We are all that is known and
unknown. Everything we seek is within us. The Divine always exists within our
heart.
Yet, at times we feel dry and cut off from love. Our
mind, through endless experiences, has accumulated many feelings, patterns,
conditionings, and negativity. We cannot access our love from our dry heart
fields when the filter of the mind blocks the downpour of love and light from
our Soul.
Through spiritual practice from any path and through
the mysterious power of Grace, we experience the sprinkle, drizzle, shower,
downpour, and even thunderstorms of our Soul’s love that is always present upon
our once, drought-stricken heart. The
mind is gradually cleaned and cleared through the rainwater of the soul, so
that the dry heart can be refreshed by the soul’s love, light, and wisdom. This
enlightened experience is the real “us” and manifests more and more in our
journey through introspection and contemplation.
This book succinctly reflects upon renewed and
refreshed experience, insight, and understanding as our heart reawakens to our
soul wisdom. It illustrates through many examples of how our angle of vision
changes in our own empowerment, in relationships, spiritual experience, and
attitudes in living as we discover that we are indeed, love.
Rama Pemmaraju Rao MD is a board-certified physician
who specializes in Internal Medicine and Psychiatric Medicine. He is currently assistant clinical professor
at University of Alabama Medical School/Children's Hospital in Psychiatry/Child
Psychiatric Medicine. He also deals
with primary care medical issues as well.
He continues to deepen his process in training and
education in Integrative and Complementary Medicine. His lifelong goal is to bring the best of East and West into the
medical setting, to afford optimal healing.
His ultimate vision is to create a broad new paradigm in health and
medicine through teaching, education, and through the manifestation of new
clinic models that blend the Orient and the Occident.
Dr. Pemmaraju Rao is a native Texan born in San
Antonio, Texas, and whose parents and ancestry are from South India. He has blended the best of East and West in
his life and has seen first-hand issues in the human condition that warrant a
broader outlook and approach to health and healing.
He completed medical training at Baylor College of
Medicine in Houston, TX, and continued residency in Medicine's Psychiatry, and
Child Psychiatry at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals, Harvard Medical School
(Children's Hospital), and Dallas Presbyterian Hospitals.
Dr. Pemmaraju Rao appears regularly on television
and radio for all affiliates in Birmingham, Alabama, on health, healing, and
spirituality.
He has had a lifelong background in Yoga and its
practices. His deepest dream is to
convey the teachings and principles of spirituality and healing inspired by the
ideals of a number of meditation masters he has personally followed throughout
the world.
His original Guru is Swami Satchidananda who is his
most revered personal master and mentor he has known since childhood. Swami Satchidananda is the Guru and founder
of Integral Yoga© who came to the United States in the sixties and whose
teachings are well known throughout the West.
Dr. Pemmaraju Rao's spiritual journey has further
led him to the intimate quest of the heart and the search for the Divine
Mother. In this process, he has been
extremely fortunate to receive the direct energy, guidance, and grace of a
number of different embodiments of the Divine Mother around the world.
These women have included Mother Meera
(Dornberg/Thalheim Germany), * Mata Amritananda (MaCenter/San Ramon, CA), Suma
Ching Hai, Gurumayi ChidvilasanandaTM (Siddha YogaTM
lineage, South Fallsburg, NY), Karunamayi Vijayeshwari (SMVA Trust NY), and
Anandi Ma (Dhyan YogaTM, Antioch, CA).
He is also particularly grateful for the Guidance of
Master Subramaniya of the Saiva Siddhanta San Marga Temple in Kaui, Hawaii.
Dr. Pemmaraju Rao's philosophy of life is that we
are forever growing and learning on the path to enlightenment. He feels there is nothing that is "not
spiritual" if we simply shift our focus, increase our contemplation and
introspection, as well as deepen our insight.
Real spirituality, he feels, is truly being one's Self and accepting
everything about others and ourselves in every given moment. We must be who we are and learn and grow
from wherever we are. One cannot ignore
issues in Psychology 101 and claim to be spiritual. He constantly looks to the enlightened masters as examples of
what we must all become. In fact, he
feels we are already enlightened.
Ultimately everything reveals itself to us in its own time when we
approach and return to God or Source directly within our own beings.
It is a matter of uncovering layer by layer
"that which we are not in order to experience the enlightened
state." Ultimate perfect health is
the experience of enlightenment; everything we do represents our quest for
health and healing through life's journey of Self-Realization and unfolding.
My soul refreshes me by sending its guidance to my
heart and mind.
The comforting words of affirmation and guidance
percolate from my soul essence. They
fall as gentle, yet strong raindrops upon the parched fields of my heart. My divine soul is forever sending in all
directions clear and unequivocal healing, grace, bliss, peace, wisdom, light,
and joy through the vast mystery of ever-expanding inner consciousness.
Drought is manifested in my heart through the
disease of worldliness and through worldly burden. I became so focused on the outer world that my heart’s fields
were parched and barren, longing for comfort, protection, and direct dialogue
from my soul’s melodious voice.
This comfort is now arriving as I wake up in
enlightenment through meditation upon my guidance and insights, attitude
changes and shifts, and deepening peace.
These gifts of awakening drop, drizzle, shower, and downpour from my
soul into the blowing dustbowl of my heart created from the burden of my
seeming separation from God.
I simply need to begin collecting the raindrops in
the barrel of my being and use this sacred water to refresh my longing to
return to enlightenment in Source.
Each drop of guidance and wisdom that drizzles upon
my heart reminds me of what I have done, where I am going, and what is ahead on
my journey. The cracked mud of my heart will never again be as dry for the
torrent of my soul is truly quenching the once dying fields.
As soothing moisture drenches the dry, cracked sands
of my longing heart, I am renewed and refreshed in my ever-increasing
realization and remembrance that everything and anything is Divine.
As cool mud is made from the dust of my heart
meeting the cloudbursts of my Soul, I rejoice that no matter what has happened,
what happens, and what will happen, my union with the Divine is everlasting and
is always present.
