American Survival follows a family fighting in the last stages
of a guerilla war, against a group of countries using infiltration across our
borders, of soldiers and bio-weapons. After high tech transfers to Red China,
and the breakdown of our border security result in four long years of war. The
pace quickens as the family encounters the last desperate assault from the
enemies arrayed against them.
Homecoming involves battling a government plot in
the end to use the gangs in the major cities as a ploy to again disarm America,
and build a police state. The tenacity of this family and their friends to
regain what they thought lost forever faces the final challenge.
Born in Warren, Ohio on April 30, 1950, I entered
the Navy in August of 1968 after graduation from high school. I served aboard
the USS Ranger from October 1969 until my discharge in November of 1972. After
traveling for a while, I settled in Northern California and obtained an AA
degree in Auto Repair in 1977 from Chabot College in Hayward, CA. I received my
BA degree in English from California State University in Hayward, CA in 1980. I
own an Automotive Repair Shop in Oakland, CA where I have worked since 1976 and
owned since 1983. My wife and I have two children, nineteen and seventeen. We
live with our kids, dog, and three cats in San Leandro, CA.
“Murderer!“ The Moslem screamed, as Jack approached him. Jack bent down
over him, and taking a roll of duct tape from his coat pocket, he quickly
silenced the man.
“I will do you personally after they take every shred of information out
of you. For now, I’ll let Wolf guard you in the cabin until we take care of
your friends.” Jack grabbed him up off the floor like a child, and slung him
over his shoulder. He walked outside with him, past his stunned family, dumping
the man inside the cabin, and putting Wolf next to him. He locked the door, and
faced the rest of his band.
“Fun and games are over now. We got big problems. Time enough to talk if
we survive. We picked this spot because we can only be approached from the
eastern slope. Once they clear the forest and are approaching, take off your
night vision glasses. This will all go cleanly, if they believe we do not know
they are coming. They will have night vision goggles on. Mitch, you will fire
the magnesium flares directly into their midst. Once we have most of them
blinded in the first seconds, Paul will follow with rocket fire. Everyone opens
up after that, with small arms and grenades. I will say when to ceasefire. No
one approaches the bodies. There can be no surrender, and no mercy. We have
survived these last few years by lying low, and picking our spots. These are
not truck drivers. They are trained assassins. Mitch, you fire the flares when
I hit you with a flashlight beam. For God’s sake, do not hesitate. These guys
will be armed with everything under the sun, and they will not hesitate. No
radio, I repeat, no radio. Any questions?”
Grim silence answered his query. Jack smiled and nodded, ”Good Luck,
I’ll see you on the other side. Get going.”
After seeing his kids into position, and going over the whole thing with
them again, Jack kissed and hugged both of them roughly. He hurried towards
Paul’s position. He flashed his light three times in succession, and got an
answering flash before approaching. He saw Nick first, with the AK 47 in his
small hands. He smiled when he saw his uncle, and faced the clearing again.
Paul had the rocket launcher positioned and ready. Paul looked up at him
grinning.
“You got a second to tell me what got into you. You must have heard more
than you wanted.”
“I hope enough to save our lives for now. They got a tracker in one of
the trucks, and they are on their way.” Jack quickly went over what he had
learned.
