About the Book

They told me not to do it.  I would lose my job, my daughter, my reputation.  They said they knew it happened but it was more important for me to watch out for myself because I had a daughter to support and it would be a shame if someone had to take her away from me.  I did it anyway.  I did it for my students.  I did it for my daughter.  Even though I lost my job, I stood up and stated publically that it is immorally and unethical to allow our students to be abused in the public educational system.  Perhaps this book will open your eyes to the inhumane conditions that I saw in a Title One School where I taught and you can do something to help bring change.  Just because someone is young and poor does not mean that person is not a human being capable of changing the world.
