The book is the true story about the author Rick Libbey and his love for nature. Rick's story begins with young Ricky exploring nature at the pond on the family farm. The intent of the book is for the children reading it to have fun, enjoy the photos, but also to learn a few lessons along the way. MooseMan Rick calls it "the little book with the big message." The book encourages kids to follow their dreams, be patient and love their world around them too. "Ricky & the Moose" will instill some good fundamental thoughts into the young reader's minds. And then of course there's the MOOSE..... Kids love moose and Rick's enthusisam with the children is contagious. He loves speaking to them on moose and his adventures.
Rick Libbey is a professional wildlife photographer who specializes in moose and loons. Rick's love for nature began as a child and has continued to be a life long passion. But one day back in 2003 Rick was in his kayak photographing moose and it just hit him....This was what he was supposed to be doing with his life. This was his true calling. Along the way the MooseMan has found a way to to watch these huge animals peacably. He shoots from a kayak and takes pride in using traditional camera methods. In today's digital world Rick still loves his slide film and Nikon film cameras. Rick has been featured in several magazine and television segments. Rick likes to speak to children and adults alike about moose and does slide presentations regularly.Rick presents a show that teaches his audience how to moose-watch safely but more importantly in a manner respectful to the moose. He currently resides in rural New Hampshire with his wife and business partner Donna.
