Beloved Guardian
While taking a short walk since the evening was cool and quiet, Ted was relaxing and currently not being pressured to prepare for another assignment, he was surprised by a lovely woman dropping from a tree branch above him, tumbling both of them to the ground and allowing the cat she had been rescuing, to get away.
He was a man, but not a 'man'. He was the son of a creature that had the appearance of an Earthman. His mother was from Earth but his father was from far away. He had been raised by the government and now served the government of the United States as a powerful agent in it's employ. They had tried to copy his DNA to create others with his strength and dexterity but had failed. So he was their greatest weapon against the 'Axis of Evil' that spread unrest out there. He longed to be fully human, loved just for who he was, not for what he was; a weapon.
Writing has always been something I wanted to do. In my school years I wrote romance for my girlfriends. They encouraged me to write more, but there wasn't enough time. During college I attended a Police Report Writing Class learning a lot. My profession required investigations on many subjects including those on vehicle accidents. As I decided to take an early retirement I began writing in earnest. With a dozen romances on the shelf and several children's stories as well, I continue to write to share the joy of finding that perfect other half for many women's dreams.
Beloved Guardian
Closing his eyes he saw her again as she fell out of the blue. His first instinct was to wrap his arms tightly around her and cushion her fall. He had to protect her! His fingers felt softness beneath her clothes. Femininity! More than any woman he had ever known! So special that he would have to guard his heart. He needed to know more about her first, before he could trust her with his feelings. But he would, indeed, he would. He knew enough about her now that he couldn't help but gain access to the rest of the knowledge of her. It would just take a little time. And now that he was between assignments, he had the time. He would know of her!
Ted let peace flow over him and his breathing slowed. His mind drifted in gentle thoughts about catching a falling star, which turned into a woman of dreams. One that was not quite real. He slept real sleep, not his usual half-awake guarding restlessness, but honest to goodness restful sleep. And when his REM sleep started he was once again catching her to cradle her close to his heart.
