Rob Hines
The Gift of life is a true story of life before and after an organ transplant. Jack was given a lung transplant in 1998, he survived for almost a decade. Jack started keeping his thoughts and memories on paper in 1997, he requested that his son Rob Hines write this book after his death.

Author Jack Hines, born and raised in Jonesville VA. he married his wife Judy Haynes in 1959. they moved to Indianapolis Indiana in 1961 and have four children, five grand children and three great grand children. On December 26,2007 Jack and Judy their wedding vows on their 48th wedding anniversary at Methodist Hospital. after spending about an hour with family and friends, Jack wanted to return to his room, after getting back into bed, he began to die. Jack passed away on December 31,2007
Author Rob Hines was born and raised in Indianapolis Indiana, he married Juanita Lockhart in 1987 they have one son.
I felt pretty good during the day, but when it got dark out, I would get bad.I would wake up about two or three in the morning, gasping for air, I struggled to get into the kitchen to use my breathing machine, I would have a heck of a time setting up the machine and getting the medication into the bottle, I would drop the bottle and haft to start all over again. There was times, I would hang my head over the kitchen sink and pray that the lord would hurry and let it get daylight again, I knew, I would feel better in the daytime.
