About the Book

He awakened her to his undying love…

In Deity of Darkness, the book’s prequel; Drake’s obsessive love for Danielle took them both over the edge of bliss to deadly torment.  Brutally separated from her and enslaved by the cruel Darkness for nearly a century, Drake uncovers a way to reach her; as well as a tactic to escape from the lethal pact that he made with a vile demon from the Darkness.

He will never let her go.

As their passionate love story continues in this sequel, Drake—now a former disciple of the Darkness and in hiding—becomes a hated and hunted mortal unable to foresee the fatal gaze of his vengeful enemy rising up from the depths of Hell.

Amidst the turmoil, Drake and Danielle’s love and voracious desire for each other deepens, pointing them closer to the pure White Light that first drew them together.  But, the seething demon that Drake crossed expects retribution and not even the White Light may be able to shield Danielle or save Drake’s soul from the merciless wrath of the Darkness.

Deity of Darkness - Risen

Excerpt from Chapter Two

Comprehending the way their two diverse lives had crossed and joined together to that moment was incredible, she thought. “I’d like to tell you everything…from the beginning. What I mean is…how my situation first began,” she explained.

“My spirit is open.”  Hakan placed some various crystals onto the ground.  He studied the crystals before him for a few moments then moved his gaze upon her and listened as she revealed her history.

“Not long ago, Drake first came to me by way of sorcery...demonic sorcery,” she added.  “He appeared to me in what I believed was human form but then, right before my eyes, his body became transparent as if he were a phantom.  At the time, I believed his intent was to terrify me to death as it seemed everywhere I’d turn Drake would appear.  And as if that terror wasn’t satisfying enough for him, he then began communicating with me through my dreams.  He told me that we were married before in another life and that I had betrayed him so he took my life and his own.  He told me that I belonged to him and that he wasn’t going to rest until he made me his again.   For the longest time I fought him off because I didn’t understand why he was haunting me.  I had no memory of a past life with him and wanted so much for his stalking to stop.  I then confided in a man I assumed was a friend but found myself being set up for the surprise of my life.  This man I befriended was—at the time unknown to me—an associate of Drake’s.”  Danielle looked away momentarily painfully recalling the events.  “I was so engrossed in trying to avoid Drake that I wasn’t aware of the devious motivations of this other man.   I ultimately allowed myself to be seduced by him,” she said regretfully.

“As I see it, a storm of turmoil was surrounding you and many uncertainties were before you.  In times like those it can be difficult to notice where the true evil is lurking.”

“I suppose you’re right, but it didn’t end there,” she said.  “Although I couldn’t understand why Drake was haunting me and no matter how I resisted him, I began to feel a connection with the one person I most feared; Drake.  I questioned Heaven and Hell then in one incredible moment, the entire recollection from my past life with Drake came crashing back into my memory.  I immediately knew what was real and true…I was in love with Drake.”
