About the Author

    Hi readers

I suppose I should start by telling you why I got into writing. I love story telling, and I  have always enjoyed reading. So when I started getting older and grandkids started coming along ,I thought to myself , "What do I have special in this world to leave my family to say ,Hey I was here."  So I started writing.

I wanted to teach my children to set goals in life and go after them. We have had some really tough times. I lost a little girl to an accident when she was 2 years and seven months. My two oldest kids witnessed this accident which made this twice as tragic. I wanted to show them it is "OK" to move on and keep living, even when you don't want to. I wanted to give them something to look forward to in life. So, I began to write.

They are so proud when they talk about this book. My goal is to dedicate this book to the daughter I lost and to show the kids I still remember her every day, but we need to keep living for the future.

Chapter four-The ghost

Stacy climbed the stairs clutching the book her uncle had given her. She reached the top of the stairs and walked on to her room. Still concentrating on the book of pirate adventures ,she was barely paying any attention to where she was walking.

She had almost reached the door to her room when she looked up to see where she was at. The book hit the floor as she stared toward the end of the hall. She was frozen to the spot her feet had stopped at. Her mouth hung open but no scream had come out. Indeed no no sound came out at all.

There at the end of the hall stood a little girl. She was see through and there was no color to her. She was just a whisp of gray mist, but you could make out her features. She wore a long plain dress corded around the middle. Stacy had never seen anyone dressed like it before.

The little girl had long flowing hair that went well past her waist. She appeared to be somewhere around eight or nine in age.

When the little girl saw Stacy was watching her , she pressed a finger to her lips in a hush. Then she disappeared in the room at the very end of the hall. Stacy had been told by one of the maids the the room was used for storage of old family relics. Not even servants went into that room. It was off limits.

How long Stacy stood there transfixed , she didn't know. Was her imagination playing tricks on her? Or had she just seen a real ghost?
