About the Author

Ahmed K. Nazir, M.D., in his early medical career, served as a physician in Pakistan and England. Prior to joinining his residency in psychiatry, he had received in USA a brief postgraduate training in all basic specialities of the field of Medicine, including general surgery and OB,GYN. He has practiced psychiatry in America for more than a quarter of a century. His writings, mostly on psychiatric problems, and concerning Islam have been published in different newspapers and journals.

Now retired, he lives with his family in New York City. He enjoys reading poetry, listening to music, playing checkers (draughts), and studying The Holy Qur'an.

In the ongoing process of improving oneself, it is crucial that one pays attention to all aspects of one's life, e.g., biological, psychological, sociological, spiritual, in due proportion. Just as solids, liquids, gases and rays follow the laws applicable to their own respective system, e.g., liquids do not obey the laws of gases, similarly in human life, physical, mental, moral and spiritual systems go together but each one is subject to the laws particularly specified for it.

I would consider it a reward to myself if my work serves to drive at - striving for earning the best of both worlds while treading on the single Straight Path without violating the "road rules" or deviating from it, e.g., usurping someone's right/s and praying devoutly too.
