It was December 1, the first official day of the Christmas season.  The Drant family was driving to the drugstore when the eight-year old boy Sam said, “I’ve got a loose tooth! Oh boy, what if it comes out on Christmas Eve?  Then the Tooth Fairy and Santa may be visiting our house at the same time!”

“Holy molely, that would be exciting,” said Dad.

Mom looked out the car window and didn’t say anything.

“This could be fun!” shouted Sam.

“It might be too much,” said Mom.

            “Too much what?” asked Sam.

“It would be too much going on at the same time,” said Mom; “I just wonder if they could handle being in the house together.”

“What do you mean? Like the Tooth Fairy is gonna zap Santa with her wand for interfering with her visit!” replied Dad.

“Ooh yeah!  Santa then slugs her with his big sack of toys for being in his way,” said Sam; “Cool, this could get violent!”

“Hold on, I didn’t say anything about violence,” said Mom; “I just thought there might be too much going on at the same time.  Anyway, it’s highly unlikely that you’re going to lose your tooth on Christmas Eve.” She stared out the car window while Sam wondered about the possibilities.
