Carlene Painter was an elementary teacher for 25 years in Pennsylvania. She used the tale of "Ishkabibble" in her classroom to help her students find an alternative for unacceptable language. Having five grandchildren, she decided to write the story for them. She lives with her husband, Bob, in Venice, Florida.
Ishkabibble always started out in an angry voice. But, when Zachary finished saying the
bibble part he wasn't mad anymore. Using his old, bad words never helped him feel better. Bad words never helped him smile or made other people giggle.
