About the Author

Steven started his sales career in the 1950s at the age of seven when he built kites and sold them in a street market. He then expanded his business to include bicycles he refurbished from salvaged parts. By 1964 at the age of 16 he moved to traditional retail stocking shelves and selling paint and hardware at a New Jersey hardware store. It was there he learned about human nature and how to “sell” a customer. Saul Katz, a self-made millionaire who built his fortune selling fasteners to the contractors building the bridges connecting New York and New Jersey and the skyscrapers rising in Manhattan, took Steven under his wing and provided gentle guidance to the budding sales expert.
