This Book Requires Scissors and
A SIMPLE PLAN
1. Resist any temptation to peruse through the pages of this book. It is important
that you concentrate on the quotation provided for the current week. It will
surprise you to find new and different words each week when you may need it
most. This is where your sheer will power will build upon your already developing
strength.
2. This book proposes a once per week use for the length of one year. Each week is comprised of essentially two identical pages, numbered by week at the bottom of the page. For example, two pages are labeled “Week One”. The first page of each week includes a dotted line. Using a pair of scissors, carefully cut along the dotted line and place the sheet on the refrigerator door where everyone can view it. Hence the title, This Book Requires Scissors. The refrigerator is one of the most necessary and frequently visited areas in the home or office. I always use the refrigerator to place any notes to myself and for my family because of its high visibility. After all, everyone needs to eat, right? If there is another place that you think might work better for you, then use that.
Tip #1: Be the first person at work to display your ingenuity and leadership in this subtle and unique way. If you are a part of any other organization, this is a great
opportunity to inspire members and visitors and build on the integrity of the group.
3. The second page of the corresponding week is identical to the first – minus the dotted line – and conveniently remains inside of the book. That way you are
always able to refer to your entire collection.
4. Change the page once every week. Doing so allows enough time for everyone to view it. The convenient weekly numbering, provided at the bottom of each page, serves as your personal history tracker and lets you see how far you have come in all of the areas of your life. Think of it as a mental journal whereby you look back through the time that has passed and at all the things you have accomplished since Week One. When another week starts, you remove last week’s page and RECYCLE it. Use it as scrap paper or anything else, but please do not just throw it away.
Tip #2: Start doing this each week on Sundays to make this simple.
5. Please visit the official website at www.thisbookrequiresscissors.com, or e-mail me at sapna@thisbookrequiresscissors.com and share your thoughts with me about the book. How did you use the book and what response did you get if you involved other people? Did your children ask you questions after they
read a quote? Did you see a co-worker smile after reading a specific quotation?
Please share all of your stories with me. I would like to include them in my next
book.
