“The joy of the Lord is my strength”: The joy of the Lord is my strength”. Every morning you would hear this beautiful sound, coming from the forest. This is how Richie the Rooster would wake up the neighborhood.  He walked along the wooden fence like an admiral in an army. His feathers were so radiant in color that they lit up as he walked.

***************************************************

This was not your ordinary rooster. Oh no. He was an admiral in a different kind of army. He served the Lord. Every morning before he crowed, he would search his Bible to see what scriptures the Lord put in his heart to crow. He lived on a farm along with many other animals and critters. Down the road from Richie way up in an old elm tree lived Betty the bluebird. It was Betty’s job to scout out the area for wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, and vanity.

***************************************************

These were the seven deadly sins that would try to sneak in to our lives and it was Betty’s job to notice the signs. You see, Betty was an expert when it came to flying, and her keen eye sight along with her binoculars helped make our forest safe. She lived not to far from the other side and had a good view from above. Her feathers were very strong and they could carry her great distances. Her eyes could see far beyond our boundaries which helped spot the seven deadly sins which camped outside of our forest.

It became a battle when one of these sins got loose and hid in our forest. The alarm would sound off from Richie the Rooster with beautiful words from Ephesians. You could hear it throughout the entire land. “Put on the full armor of God, Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the wickedness. Put on the full armor of God.”

Betty the bluebird would hover across the land letting the troops know in what direction they would be heading.  It was Betty’s job to alert the creatures of this forest even the tiniest. We all had our jobs. Way on a mountain top lived a family of raccoons. When Betty would sound the alarm each of the raccoons were fully dressed in armor waiting to attack the seven deadly sins. Sir Ennio owned a small plane. He would use the small plane to deliver bibles across our forest so our minds were fed spiritually with the Word of God. Sir Ennio was the captain in charge of the regiment. He made sure that everyone in his command was living examples of the God they all loved so much. The raccoon regiment Ephesians 611 was located in the mountains just a few miles from where Betty had her nest. The regiment was commanded by a raccoon known as Sir Ennio. With Gods Word we were able to stand firm against the seven deadly sins.  Gods Word contained the very necessary values of life that kept us on the straight and narrow. The book of Psalms gave us clear meanings and strength to continue to serve the God we love so much. There was a chapter in this book for any circumstances that we would encounter, and knowing this Sir Ennio prepared our minds for the battle ahead.
