What is the book of life?
Whose book is it?
Why is there a need for such a book?
What happens if my name is not found written in this book?
How do I get my name to appear in the Lamb’s book of life?
How do I keep my name written therein?
The Lamb’s book of life is that sacred book God has in heaven which contains all the names of men and women who have been saved by the blood and sanctified by the Spirit of God. Those who have been saved by the blood have been washed in the blood of the Lamb. Their sins have been forgiven and covered by faith in the risen Savior who is Jesus Christ our Lord. The word sanctified means set apart for God. Therefore, everyone who has freely accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord will find their name written in the Lamb’s book of life. The reason why this book is called the Lamb’s book of life is because God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one. Furthermore, Jesus was the only one worthy to open this sacred book. The Bible also tells us that God foreordained before the foundation of the world the souls who would answer the call of God. This tells us that some men and women are predestined to reject the salvation of the Lord. We must never forget that Jesus Christ willingly laid his life down to redeem our souls from the hand of the enemy. This same God sent Messiah known as Jesus the Christ came down from glory and offered himself as a living sacrifice so that we all could inherit eternal life in the kingdom of God. Therefore, to the ones who reject the risen Savior of this world, there is no redemption for their souls. Salvation is a free gift from the true and living God to all who have a mind to receive. Only God knows who will freely accept his only begotten Son Jesus, and who will not.
Scripture
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved” (Ephesians 1:4-6).
Those who receive Jesus as Lord have been saved from the wrath of God which will appear very soon. Those who reject the risen Savior are condemned already and the wrath of God abides on them. This topic will be discussed in more detail later in this book. The opening six questions regarding the book will also be addressed and explained later in this text. The question everyone needs to know is this. Where does a man go when he wants to hear directly from God? We go to the one and only place where we can be certain that we are hearing exactly what God has to say. That one important place is called the Holy Bible—the anointed word of God. There is no other such book in the world that has been canonized specifically for this purpose. However, there are a large number of religious books written over the years that men worship out of. Many of these same books were developed primarily because man disagreed with what he found in the word of God. This type of rebellion is what motivates an individual or group to develop a religion or denomination that only accepts part of the Bible. When we reject the holy word of God in any or all parts, we are headed for trouble. This is referred to as the buffet style religion. This type of religion allows you to scroll through the entire Holy Bible and just pick (continue)
