About the Book

David Whitaker has provided a must-read guide for Church or Para-church organization workers, and pregnancy care center advocates, on the topic of God’s Restoration.

Using Scriptural examples, David provides biblical steps to help those who can benefit from the healing that the Lord offers to all of His children. Many people may not see themselves as potential candidates for the grace of God. Others may not see a need in their lives for restoration. All of us, no matter what our circumstance, or season of life, need the help others who are full of compassion and understand grace.

David’s book can help prepare you to be the vessel of God’s mercy in reaching “the least of these...” The Road Back To Grace is complete with resources, as well as Biblical study guides, for individual or group study. I’m grateful to David for taking the time to develop such a tool to help those in need as well as those who want to help others!

Having served as an Executive Director of a Pregnancy Resource Center, I have seen the needs firsthand that must be met. If we are to help men and women in crisis with unexpected pregnancies, staff and volunteers of pregnancy centers need to understand the principle and process of restoration. They must rise to the challenge to present themselves to these in crisis as compassionate and extensions of the Savior.

People who, perhaps, do not realize they need restoration, are filing into our centers, seeking physical, emotional and spiritual help. We need to be armed with resources and tools to help them in this process to healing and good health. As God was bringing me personally through the restoration process, He divinely brought me to work at a pregnancy center. It was there that I realized how important my work was of sharing with others how God can restore them. Many in our churches believe that our first offense is to stop the world from killing babies, to save the lives of the unborn. While that is part of our goal, it goes much further. We are also to save the lives of moms and dads who are in crisis. Those who come to the centers in pain and anguish, confusion and pressure from boyfriends, parents, and friends to give up their babies are people who need intervention and compassion. If we can help them, they will be the voice who will stop others from killing their babies. There is much work to be done concerning restoration. Many Churches, Para-church organizations and Pregnancy Resource Centers do not have any protocol for the processing people to the place of restoration, when it is paramount that they do so. Since we are agents of compassion, ministers of the gospel, angels of mercy, and communicators of grace, lets learn together the vital steps that are needed to help those who need God’s full restoration.

May we go against the tide of ignorance concerning this, and abandon tradition that calls for complacency. May we take up the cross and follow Jesus as He leads us to show grace to those who need it most. We say that God is the God of first, second, third and fourth chances. If we truly believe that, then we must fight everything that opposes it, and yield to the Spirit of Grace and the truth of all of the Bible. It is all by grace! May God truly bless the reader of this book, and may many be restored as a result. Amen!
