Skip Jennings
In his new book, Spirit Explosion: A Time for GOD, Love, and Transformation, Skip Jennings shares a creative expression of his personal journey to an awareness of God that is intended to inspire and transform readers as they search for God on their own terms and in their own words.
Spirit Explosion presents 33 aspects of Jennings’ path to spiritual enlightenment, each accompanied by a poem about his own experiences, an affirmation to God and a writing exercise to help readers discover their own voices. His artwork also appears throughout.
Jennings hopes that his example and the introspection encouraged by the writing exercises will lead readers to understand that “God is everything, everywhere and is always active and present in our lives,” he writes. “Love is the key to healing. Love is the way to enlightenment and peace. Love is all there is. Through writing comes honesty and awareness of one’s connection to the universe. Once we are awake to the universal energy of love, we transform our lives.”
Skip Jennings is an empowerment specialist. He has a fine arts degree from New York University and has been teaching dance and fitness for 15 years. He is certified through AFAA, ACE, AEA and the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and he holds 15 certifications in group fitness, personal training, nutrition and life coaching. Skip is also studying to become a licensed spiritual practitioner and a new thought minister. Spirit Explosion: A Time for GOD, Love, and Transformation is his first book.

“Spiritual Awakening”
It’s like synergy pulsating through my body
I feel alive for the first time, awakening from a death that consumed my life
As the world shouted my name; DEAD MAN WALKING, I did not listen
As God tried time and time again, to get my attention, I denied that he was even talking to me
You see, I was so spiritual, “Hallelujah – Amen!”
I went to church every Sunday
I prayed aloud
I could quote scripture
I even tithed
I also lied, cheated, stole and hated
I was a broken mess
My reply to the question; “How are you today, Brother Jennings?” would be;
Fine! Fine! Fine!
Lie! Lie! Lie!
You see, I was so spiritual, “Hallelujah – Amen!”
New God! New Spirit! New Love! New Birth! New Man
New Peace! New Freedom! New Joy! New Honesty
This is what flows in and out of me
This is what I need to share
This is my coming to life
Awakening from a death that consumed my life
The Old Man hears the spiritual “Jesus Paid It All”
This New Man sings “Use Me Oh God”
The Old Man said “Oh Lord why me?”
This New Man says “Thy Will, Oh Lord!”
The Old Man walked, with much to hide
But everyone said, “We know who you truly are.”
This new man is ever evolving, transcending, always growing, always new
Always saying goodbye to the old, receiving truth
I am remembering who I am
I’m beginning to understand my purpose
I am living my destiny
Service is my reason to live
I KNOW WHY I’M ALIVE!
Affirmation #1
I am a unique expression of God’s love and divine grace. My life is a vehicle for sharing my gifts and I live with the knowing of my existence on this planet. I am here to bring God’s light into this dimension and empower the greatness, which lives in everyone. And so it is. Amen.
