Happiness like freedom requires work. Let’s call it a marriage between you and your goal. It requires commitment. It requires conscious thought and conscious action. It requires faith. And in this case, faith is equal to your action. In other words practice.
Faith in its pure form means: Thought + Voice + Action = Expectation. It does matter what you believe. But, your beliefs change in accordance with your current circumstance. Circumstance is temporary. The Faith = Expectation equation is not temporary, it is constant. It is a principal law of the universe. In other words, practice what you preach wisely.
It is common to ask others what to do. Should I bow my head, should I stay silent, how should I sit? But, I suggest you ask and trust yourself first. Otherwise you may become dependent on others for guidance you already know.
How is being dependent on others for guidance bad? Being dependent on others for guidance it is an impermanent lesson. It may have been exactly what you needed once, but now it’s time to blossom. You need to use your newfound ability for you.
You are the reason you want to improve, become happier, share with others and fulfill yourself. When you begin this process your newfound happiness will pour out of you. It will affect others and they will smile when they see you. It will set into motion a new karma, a new cause for happiness. Essentially your practice toward happiness will affect not only you, but others as well. If you raise your life-condition, the collective lives of everyone, everything on or associated with this planet will rise in harmony.
Your life condition can be accurately measured easily. If you smile more often than not, your life-condition is high. If you cannot smile no matter how you try, your life-condition needs work.
Happiness energy takes effort and sometimes sweat. And the more you practice this energy, the more naturally and often it will come to you.
