The basic concept of the book, “Sexual Purity,” is to encourage teenagers and young adults to live by Christian morals to give them insight of their identity, which leads to making good choices. This book provides biblical content to help them in their spiritual walk with Christ.
The bible teaches that Satan comes but to kill, steal, and destroy. Seducers, false teachers, charmers, and others who are busy for Satan seek to disrupt our children…trying to take them out of fellowship with the Lord. This book is designed to keep them focused and to detour them from one of the sins that they struggle with the most, sex.
I was born in a small town in Alabama…nearly the youngest of several siblings. I grew up in a large family and lived in the home with both of my parents throughout my entire childhood years.
Unfortunately, I lost my dad tragically in a house fire on February 5, 1995. Ten years later I lost my mother on April 10, 2005 after a two year battle with cancer.
It was difficult to lose our mother, being that she was the backbone of the family. She always demonstrated miraculous strength in her life and in raising her children. I can say for the most part that she taught her children how to be strong, and through Christ we were able to handle her death with strength, which is the way she would have wanted us to.
I was inspired by my mother to finish writing this book. Due to health problems, she couldn’t do some of the things she wanted to do. I no longer want to linger on the things that have been set before me especially while I am in good health. Occasionally in the past, I have taken life on earth for granted as if it will always be mine. Now, I must press forward to accomplish those things the Lord has set before me for the benefit of others especially our young people.
So, some might ask, “Who is the author?” The answer is a woman of God who gave her life to Christ at the age of thirteen. Challenged with many things in her life, but have compressed those experiences into a message for young adults to apply in their daily lives to achieve and maintain a Christian lifestyle.
Preface
God discloses through his Word an incredible need for love, fellowship, liberty, and compassion in the body of Christ. Christians must come together to accomplish His purpose for our lives. Many of us go through life with no identity because we fail to make God a priority in our lives. Therefore, we live powerless lives and fall into many sins.
We say that we are empowered by the Lord…He is our fortress yet we often lose sight of where our help comes from. We try on our own to be free from bondages such as: fornication, intimidation, insecurity, being ashamed of Christ and others. Too often we overlook the fact that we are powerless without God.
We should be helping one another deal with disappointments, temptations, confusion, loneliness, and unite our efforts to help the feeble minded and be a witness to the unbelievers. The power of God lives in us to do the work of Christ as His ambassadors. When united, we become stronger and we can accomplish more work in the body of Christ.
Unfortunately, Satan causes confusion and division among Christians which results in an increase in abortions, divorces, fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, and many other sins. Don’t misunderstand my point, the body of Christ will never be destroyed, but division in the church causes confusion within the body. It’s not enough to say that we are Christians but we must believe it within our hearts and demonstrate it in our lives.
When God inspired me to write this book, it was just an assignment, now it has become much more. After studying and hearing the word of God being taught by pastors, teachers, etc. so much has become clearer to me. For instance, many children want the truth and to be disciplined as long as it doesn’t interfere with their schedule. They also know that fornication is wrong, but they rely on grace for forgiveness. We must take responsibility for our actions in order to make a difference.
I want this book to inspire children to think before they act. I would like for them to listen to the friend that encourages good things and not the associate who doesn’t care about consequences. I pray that they will seek God on their level of understanding to increase spiritual growth and allow him to use them for His purpose.
The basic concept of this book is to encourage children to live by Christian morals. Encouraging them to…
Know who you are in Christ…that the world can’t define you.
