My style of poetry is the way of living; everyday life experiences. Most of everything you will read is my life history, my environment, my culture, my good days and bad days, "JUST EVERYDAY LIFE". I'm here to hopefully bless somebody throught my writings and to plant a seed to another poet being uprooted into being renewed. Poetry is a way of healing, your minds being restored, a change in just your way of living. After reading this book it will change you physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
Kamil Horton was born and raised in Newark, NJ in 1982. Growing up in an urban neighborhood was enough for him to stomach, and maintain living, but he survived through all the chaos in his environment. It all started in 2000, where the poet came out of him in high school, where he attented Weequahic High School, in the city of Newark. At the age of 17, while in his Creative Writing class, Kamil grew a respect for poetry. His interest and zeal for writing became passionate to him. He brought his poems to life through his life story. Kamil found poetry to be an easy way to express his feelings. He's just a young man that was blessed with a gift from God, what more can you ask for? Now at the age of 24, Kamil works with kids academically in the city of Newark as a Teacher's Assistant; but pursuing a teaching career. Also, he has started a mentor program called "Nothing Into Something", where he's all about saving our young kids lives before it's taken away from them. Kamil, also has a poetry group called "CREATIVE POETS", so for him poetry is not just his hobby, it's his life.
Existence of Self
The existence of what is written; and
existence of what is real
Is the motion of reality
The truth that is spoken from the lips of
self
But rather than from the lips of the unheard
To try to make one known into civilization;
which creates the existence of one's
poulation
Only to realize that one's habits become
criticized and eventually publicized
To create friction in one's mind, and start
another level of existing self
The existence of self enhances the
existence of spiritual warfare
