About the Author

Having a second language definitely has its advantages in this day and age!

I have two small boys who are 3 and 5 years old and they love to read about Cerdos Adventures or have me read to them. Most of the time I read the stories, sometimes I make them up.

I am trying to teach my children to speak Spanish and I think it’s very important to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Whenever I try to teach them something new I always incorporate it into a story and they seem to learn it much easier and most importantly they remember.

Due to the success I have with my children picking up a second language, I wanted to help other children read and learn in the same way.

When I was learning Spanish it was hard to find any literature that was easy reading.

What I mean by that is, books that I bought where either all Spanish or they were exercise books, I wanted something in Spanish and English that told a story and it was written in English and Spanish. Hence I wrote these books about Cerdos adventures.

Every animal in these books is called by its Spanish name i.e. Cerdo is Spanish for pig and so on.

When I tell my children stories or read these books to them they learn colours, counting, animals, how to ask for things they want, how to tell the time and learn their manners

I believe that when children read or they have their parents read to them about Cerdos Adventures they will love the storylines and most importantly discover that learning a second language is something that is easier and more enjoyable than you may think.

CERDO That is Spanish for pig, he was always hungry.

One day when he had finished his dinner he said, “QUIERO ALGO MÁS” This means “I WANT SOME MORE”.

Cerdo looked through the fence and saw his friend CABALLO, that is Spanish for horse.

Hello Caballo I ate all my dinner but “QUIERO ALGO MÁS”, “I want some more”,

“You can have some of my hay” replied Caballo. Cerdo tried some hay but he said  NO ME GUSTA” That means “I DON’T LIKE IT”

Will Cerdo find something he likes from one of his farmyard friends? Why don't you read on.
