Chrisogonas Odero Odhiambo
This text is an effort to spark an aura of inspiration into the hearts of those who find no meaning in life; at the same time, the text is an effort to rejuvenate the shredded, almost dried up, tributaries of inspiration in those who find meaning in life, yet happen to be too lethargic to rise to their greater purpose. The material herein, well taken, should infuse in you the courage and inspiration to soar to greater heights and achieve your life goals.
This book is coined to make the reader think deeply about his or her life purpose, and perhaps identify it, if not yet. The reader is made to realize, with a renewed appreciation, the value of becoming the leader in his or her own life, and consciously taking charge of the same with an added sense of responsibility. The book will enable the reader to inspire his or her own life without waiting to be inspired.
Importantly, the book opens up to the reader the basic framework of our society that must be taken care of in order that man realizes the dream society of love and service. The readers are inspired and encouraged to become part and parcel of the positive constructive efforts that make the world they believe in through wise investments of their times and lives for enduring and fulfilling life purposes.
To love is to be of service to those in need!
Chrisogonas Odhiambo was born in Kenya and by the time of this publication, he is a graduate student at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC, USA.
Coop, as he’s fondly known by friends, is a keen mind on writings of wisdom and inspiration as well as projects that develop both the human intellect and character. He believes that proper schooling provides one of the most propitious environments for one to develop the intellect and character alongside leadership qualities that will enable one to be of greater service to the society.
Indeed, one of the major projects he’s currently working upon and plans to rollout soon is to establish a formal charity Center of Excellence and Leadership in Kenya that will provide comprehensive high school and tertiary education. The institution’s goal will be geared to investing in men and women who will eventually come out to share their inspiration and gains from the center by giving selfless faithful service in return to their countries and to the world; men and women of integrity who will strive by all means, head and heart, to make a positive difference to their world.
Ever since I was a little boy, I have repeatedly fumbled about for answers to some questions that I regard fundamental to life. I have sought to know from the knowledgeable persons and I have dug through varying mounds of literature. No less, time and again, I have reflected upon these questions very meditatively.
At one time or another I believe that you must have toyed long with questions like: Who am I? Why am I here? Am I really here, in the first place? Did I have to be here now? What am I supposed to do here? Do I even have a role or purpose here? Am I here by chance, default or design? Is the universe real, or is it merely some figment of my ever-fertile imagination? Who made this awesome universe with all therein – the intelligently and wonderfully created skies and the rivers and the plants and all the diverse creatures? Who created the Creator, or how did he come about? Where and how did it all start? If nothing happened to be, what would be, and what would make anything exist without anything to make anything? Where are my unknown origins - is it mom and dad or are there mysterious ciphered origins beyond parents that simply employed them as earthly vessels to give rise to this bewildered mortal?
Why do some people seem to lead comfortable happy lives while others seem to be perpetually shuffling in the doldrums of endless trails of tribulations? What can I do to bring true smiles of joy to the faces of the afflicted, and when will I be in a position to do it? What do I find joy doing? What really matters while am here, assuming am here? What counts? What is the best immortal investment that I can make to my life as well as the others’ lives, one that will defy the times? Would it matter what I gave my life for when time comes and am no more in the mortality? What does tomorrow hold for me? What is behind death? The list is endless and I could fill a 20-page book with such kind of questions.
Questions that touch on the origins of the creator and the origins of the creator’s creator remain such a puzzling mystery and only faith can bail you out of that maze of confusion because even the greatest books like the Bible can only come to one humble(d) conclusion that: “In the beginning there was The word, The word was with God and The Word was God.” That is to say, the origins are virtual and mysterious. It is enough to accept and believe that The Word put us here as part of this unified diversity for a divine mix of purpose. Vain attempts of trying to crack the origins of the Divine Power are merely but a chasing after the wind because the Power itself has somewhat deliberately ciphered this celestial intellect beyond the ordinary human mind.
The Bible simply begins from the point of the awesome creator’s creation, but not His origins. And so are the other books and writings on the same subject. Science has actually presented an even more scared position of genesis by simply talking about a Big Bang without being able to unravel the mystery called the Big Bang. Science, in my opinion, has just come into the picture to share an aspect of the mystery if not to add to the confusion, but not to rise beyond the mystery. Beyond a certain point, beyond the Big Bang (which still remains largely a speculation), beyond the philosophy, beyond the confusion, only faith works. And how else to behold such an enigmatic presence other than to seek Him in worship and reverence! King Solomon, one of the wisest of men who ever walked the surface of the earth, in his book of Ecclesiastes, comes to a humbled conclusion about the mystery: “do good and make merry while you live, for that is all there is to you... Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”
The above questions touch into the aquifers of spirituality and any one who is consciously awake to his or her senses must at one time or the other have asked one or more of them. If not, then you need to seriously consider yourself partially alive. Some of those questions cannot be answered no matter how long one spends one’s time digging into them. For instance: what are the origins of the Creator? What if nothing existed, what would be? Even the existence of nothing would take a special mystery to...
