About the Author

Hi, I’m Julie, I was born in East London but my growing up memories are of where my family still live today in Essex.  With my parents traditional family values and appreciated guidance my sister, brother and I grew up to believe in ourselves and best of all to have the courage of our convictions.

Ever since I can remember I have always been creative, I now have my own little art studio where I can let my artistic notions materialise.  My favourite moments are practising yoga and painting in oils, especially using my new wet on wet technique.

Years later here I am, older yes, wiser perhaps, but more importantly I am a very lucky mother with two wonderful daughters, whom are also my best friends.

My inspiration for this book originally came from reading bedtime stories with my girls. Inventing our own tales with extraordinary characters and just letting our imaginations run wild.  As you know these moments between parent and child are so precious, the bonding, the learning interaction and the fun.

It wasn’t until I moved from urban to rural, from house to houseboat, that my new stimulating environment gave me the motivation to complete this book.

I will be honest with you this book is my first; an author novice I confess, I am just a person with an inventive idea, seeing the idea through using the courage of my convictions.

This book has brought me many unique challenges and pleasure, my vision is that when you choose this book, sit comfortably with your child you will undoubtedly share precious moments like I have.

Note: Some characters mentioned in my books are names of people I love dearly.  Poppa is my dad, since 1983 my dad has become a proud Poppa to 4 grand daughters.

As Mum and Dad watched the children leave they reminded them to be home in time for lunch.

Five Clive left with his huge hands full of buckets and sponges.

Pretty Penny skipped along with her handbag full of colourful ribbons.

Two Boo slithered along with her pink flowery watering can.

Ten Ben sped off doing wheelies down the path.

Sound as a Pound opened the garage and placed his old toy trains on a table.

Even Two Pound Hound bounded out of the garden holding his huge bone in his mouth.

As promised they all came home in time for lunch, skipping, clapping, springing, rolling and smiling.

The children emptied their pockets and watched as the change jingled onto the table.
