FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

I have been down a road long and dusty

all so that one day I would meet you, Gusty

I have been through relational dynamics too often

and my heart always ended up inside a coffin

a hopeless romantic wandering around

thinking my soul mate would never be found

and then you came into my life unannounced

making all the pain worth every ounce

because it created my heart into what it should be

forever bound, yet finally free

hence, my lifelong journey found its destination

and I will jump in without hesitation

as you are the only person I ever did see

who would give up everything for me

you are all my dreams rolled into one

and my overcast sky will now have some sun

for quasi-loves of the past

did not last

revealing to me that they were not true

and then I met you

the sunset at the end of my trail

the end of my heart's wail

now when you look into my blue eyes

I see a love that never dies

and you will be with me until the end

my soul mate, my friend

if you look around I will be there

I am not going anywhere

alas, we have been through hell and did survive

just so both of us could finally be alive

two broken hearts at last having found bliss

for such a time as this
